- Just saw your blue jean planter article and just had to post this. Made one the Spring of 2002. Used it on Buffet Table in Reception area for Motorcycle Event. Since then have used it in living room for small childrens' toy holder. Popular. Had to show how to make it.
Need:
1 small pair child's blue jeans
Scissors
Needle and thread or sewing machine
Unique belt to fit jeans
Container to fit inside pants after sewing
Zip up pants. Turn inside out. Stitch across jeans below zipper and above jointing where legs begin. Cut off legs. Set upright onto newly sewn seam stitch across points to form bag with bottom. Tack points in toward center bottom of seam or cut off points. Turn right side out. Wash & Dry. Insert any recycled container that will fit to make semi-or hard container liner. Can even use bowls. Thread belt through loops. Fasten. Fill with party foods or favors of choice. Candy, chips, etc. When finished. Wash up. Fold up and store flat until needed. (You could used a strong starch solution to make semi-hard. Just follow directions on bottle.)
